Collab Drop This Friday
No one’s ever had more fun brewing together than these two.
You know how much we love brewing fun beers with our friends, and all the better when they’re friends here in town! This Friday, August 28, we can’t wait for you to try WenDome IPA, our collaboration with Humble Roots Beer Project!
A mash-up of our own Aroma Dome IPA and HRBP’s house IPA, Wendell, this one’s packed with the goods. The details, from Black Spruce head brewer Carey Fristoe:
Pilsner malt, Vienna, malted white wheat, malted oats. It’s hopped with Idaho 7 T-90 pellets and Citra DynaBoost in the whirlpool/coolpool, and fermented with Lallemand Pamona hybrid IPA yeast. It’s then dry-hopped with Citra and El Dorado à la Aroma Dome and Idaho 7, Krush à la Wendell and then some Citra liquid lupulin, which is a food grade, ethanol-based hop extract. About as close as you can get to T-90s without sticking your face in a bag. Very citrus-forward with some good stonefruit, some sweet fruit pineapple notes. Very soft, low bitterness. Very juicy.
A lot going on, yeah? Hope you’re ready, because we are! WenDome Hazy IPA will be available on tap at BOTH Black Spruce and Humble Roots this Friday, August 28! Cans to-go will be available at our taproom only. Our Friday food truck will be Spice It Up (available 4-8 only), and La Cubanita will be here all day on Saturday.
Trivia Night Next Wednesday
Start flexing the ol’ brain muscle, because Trivia Night is back next Wednesday, September 2! Questioning begins at 6PM. $5 per person to play (max 4 per team), and all paid players are entered into a door prize drawing. Prizes awarded for first, second and second to last place.Stay tuned for our September categories, and come hungry, because Meg’s Eats & Treats will be here all evening!
Festbier Returns September 4
It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Oktoberfest season! We’re ready to party, so we’re dropping this year’s batch of Alasktober Festbier next Friday, September 4! Joyously crisp, with gentle bitterness and delightful floral notes from an addition of German hops, this batch won’t last long. Get it on tap and in cans to-go while it lasts! Prost!

Believe it or not, winter’s coming, and we’re gearing up for another round of our Think & Drink Lecture Series! That said, if you’ve been on a big adventure, have done a wild project for work or have a fascinating area of expertise, we want to hear about it!
