Let's Solstice
Solstice is here, so let’s party! Join us for a whole weekend of solstice fun! We’ll lead with “this weekend’s slushie is passion fruit cider” and then tell you about the events.
Tomorrow (Thursday, June 19) will be our Solstice Pop-Up Extravaganza, happening out on our patio from 4PM to 7PM! Enjoy a slushie, cider, beer or soda, check out our new merch and shop local vendors, including:

- Mom with a Measuring Cup - Who doesn’t love a macaron?

This Friday, June 20 will be… the seventh annual release of Sun Never Sets Rosé IPA!!! First brewed to celebrate the solstice wedding of BSBC owners Carey and Steph, it’s since become one of our trademark brews and a fan favorite. This tasty lil’ number will be available on tap and to-go in cans. Plus, Bitter Pastries will be here from 4PM to 7PM with all manner of sweet treats! Come for the rosé IPA, stay for the guava quesitos. Spice It Up will be here at 4PM, too, and our taproom will be open at noon!
Need a break from all of the solstice festivities around town? Our taproom will be open from noon to 9PM this Saturday, June 21! C’mon down for a pint, have a bite (BYO) and kick it in our serene and sunny beer garden. Grapefruit cider is on deck for when the passion fruit cider runs out, and our marionberry soda is tasting great!

Mmmm Those Fruit Ciders…
ICYMI we’ve got a very fun rotation of one-off fruit ciders parading through our taproom. Currently, passion fruit-infused cider is tasting mighty fine and will be this weekend’s featured slushie! On deck, we’ve got grapefruit-infused cider, bringing all of the citrusy, summery vibes you could ever dream of. These ciders are small batch and available on draft only (no cans, but you can do a growler fill!), so get ‘em while they’re hot (or cold)!
New Bike Club Prize Out Now
The wait is over! New prizes for Black Spruce Bike Club are here! You know the drill: join our bike club HERE, fill out your punch card (one punch each time you bike to our taproom, double punches on Saturdays) and claim your prize! This year’s prize is this cute koozies, available in two colors! You can do it all over again, if you want both colors, and this koozie fits our beer and cider cans like a dream! Happy pedaling!
Big Fat Merch Drop
Holy moley this is a big one. We have a toooooon of super slick new merch ready for all of your summer and winter adventures! We’ve restocked on some customer favorites, including toddler tees and our blue Alaska shirt, and we’ve ordered new prints of our beloved “Woodland Journey” design by Nomadic Stars and have new garments featuring our Alaska design! We got new koozies, too! All items are available in our taproom now.
Upcoming Events
Our next outdoor Coloring Night is very Alaska-inspired. TODAY (Wednesday, June 18), your mission: draw a Big One of the Great One. Think you’ve got it in you to make a big ol’ portrait of Denali with sidewalk chalk? We need flowers, we need animals, we need clouds, the works. We’ll provide the chalk, you provide the stellar drawings.
Hooray for solstice and hooray for local artisans! Join us on Thursday, June 19 for our Solstice Pop-Up Extravaganza! From 4PM to 7PM, we’ll have not one, not two but NINE (9!!!) local vendors slingin’ all manner of dope, handmade items on our patio! Solstice is comin’, and you know what that means: Sun Never Sets Rosé IPA is back! This year’s batch will be released on Friday, June 20 (open at noon, BTW!) and will be available on tap and in cans to-go. Even better? Bitter Sweet Pastries will join us that evening for a Patio Pop-Up from 4PM to 7PM! Happy solstice, everyone!

Ready for a good old-fashioned lawn party? Join the Brewers Guild of Alaska at Palmer Alehouse for Lagers on the Lawn, happening on Sunday, June 29 from noon to 5PM! This event will feature live music by Jerry Wessling and Yachtly Crew, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and, you guessed it, all Alaska-made lagers! There will be cocktails, cider and non-alcoholic beverages, too! You can get your tickets and bid on silent auction items HERE.
Our next First Friday is actually a First Thursday. On Friday, July 3, we’ll be welcoming Two Rivers-based artist and graphic designer Joe LaMagna to our taproom as our featured artist for the month of July! Joe’s work features some true Alaska superstars: sled dogs. You’re gonna love it.
