You know her! You love her! Fan favorite Heidi Morel of Morel Pottery will be here with a fresh drop of ceramics this Friday, December 6 for First Friday! Heidi’s ceramics are wildly popular and feature a multitude of hand-painted, Alaska-inspired images. Doors open at 3PM, so get here early for first dibs of Heidi’s new works! Gonna miss First Friday? Eh, no worries. Heid will restock throughout the month, and we’ll have her work up through the new year!

Velvet Antler Has Returned
After a two-year hibernation, Velvet Antler Baltic Porter has returned to our taps! Robust without being too heavy, this beer is an ideal wintertime sipper. Roasty, with just a hint of chocolate and weighing in at 7.4% ABV, this beer is just as perfect next to a bonfire as it is with a rich holiday meal. Join us for Heidi’s First Friday show on Friday, December 6, and stop back throughout the month to check out her restocks!
The Eastern Alaska Range Avalanche Center (EARAC) will be hosting a meet-up at our taproom on Tuesday, December 10 at 6PM! Connect with fellow backcountry adventurers, learn about the EARAC’s upcoming workshops and get some hot tips for your next cold weather adventure!
Our next monthly Coloring Night will be on Wednesday, December 11! Featuring winter and holiday designs for both kids and adults (dibs on the “She’s a Beaut, Clark” page!), this family-friendly activity is even better accompanied by a pint of your Black Spruce favorite or a glass of our house lemon soda for the littles.
Missed Riva Sazama’s November art feature in our taproom? Fret not! Join us for a pop-up with Riva Sazama in our taproom on Thursday, December 12 from 4PM to 7PM! Shop Riva’s collection of handcrafted copperworks, including wearable pieces, like earrings and cuffs, ornaments and more!
Fairbanks Sensory Friendly Social Club will host its next monthly Caregiver Connection on Saturday, December 14 from 2PM to 4PM. Everyone is welcome to this opportunity to connect with parents and caregivers of special needs or neurodiverse individuals. Caregiver Connections are held on the second Saturday of each month from 2PM to 4PM in our side room.
Bankstown Bike & Ski will be joining us on Saturday, December 14 at 5PM for a Build-Your-Own Ski Poles Pop-Up with Booyah Bamboo! Pick your own colors, have materials cut to your size and start ski season off with some extra dope new ski equipment! Stay tuned for additional details!
We had a blast with last week’s book swap, and we’re stoked to do it again! Come by on Wednesday, December 18 for our next FREE Book Swap: “How To” Edition. The focus of this month’s book swap will be tomes of instruction, including cookbooks, craft books, gardening, home improvement, etc. We’ll also have a variety of children’s books available (we’ll always have children’s books). Where did the time go?! Black Spruce Brewing Company will turn SIX YEARS OLD this winter solstice, and we’re celebrating with a big fat party! Saturday, December 21, join us to celebrate Our Sixth Anniversary a trio of beer releases: Treble Dome Triple IPA, and two barrel-aged variants of our multi-award-winning Reginald Van Horn Barleywine. Starting at 6PM, we’ll also have live music by Casey Smith Project and The Forest That Never Sleeps! Thank you for six amazing years, Fairbanks!
